Travels in Izu

PENSION OHBAN

I often stay at PENSION OHBAN ( http://www1.ocn.ne.jp/~ohban/ ) while I travel in Izu. They has a fishing boat, OHBAN-MARU. The pension is close to the Sotoura beach.

Access

Izukyu-Shimoda Station. #7 bus for Shirahama, get out at Sotoura-guchi.

(For reference) Bus timetables ( on Shimoda station and Sotoura-guchi )

• Izu Hakone Bus provides Timetables. There is not timetable on Sotoura-guchi. It will take about seven mitutes from Shimoda station to Sotoura-guchi, and about three mitutes from Shirahama kaigan(beach) to Sotoura-guchi.
• Tokai Bus provides timetables. (Shimoda station) (Sotoura-guchi (for Shimoda station)) (Sotoura-guchi (for Shirahama))

Sotoura Beach

It is bathing beach. White sand, gentle wave, the sea is shallow for a good distance from the shore, and offshore floating island. This beach is more peaceful than Shirahama. There is a seaside school for Nerima-ku, Tokyo.
